
Course Introduction
The course will help HR teams understand their role in maintaining GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) compliance. It Covers GDPR best practices for HR operations to ensure personal data is managed, processed and stored correctly. It refers to key activities such as recruitment, payroll, exits and sick leave. It will demonstrate to senior management that HR data is being processed lawfully.
Objectives
- The key GDPR considerations that should be given to HR operations, including data subjects’ rights and processing personal data.
- What data is needed and how it should be safely stored within the recruitment process, including access rights.
- The onboarding process, including gaining references and screening, & how to manage the contractual terms.
- The payroll process and who should have access to this information.
- What HR data can and cannot be shared.
- The appraisal and disciplinary process, and the communication needed with employees.
- The confidentiality involved with employees’ sickness leave.
- What needs to be asked/answered in exit interviews and how to keep it confidential.
- Know what information to share, when the information can be shared, with whom you can share the information, and how long personal information should be retained.
